Kaskazi Wildlife Horse Safari
Kilo Bravo, Kaskazi’s horse base is on Dolly Wildlife Estate, in USA River /Maji Ya Chai, only 1-hour drive from the lodge. The ride takes place on the Wildlife Estate and whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced rider, there is an opportunity and experience for everyone. Those with little riding experience can enjoy a gentle hack along dusty tracks where wildebeest and antelopes graze contentedly. Led by experienced guides, one can explore the meandering paths, spotting a rich array of wildlife like zebras, wildebeests, eland, and other gazelles and antelopes along the way. Regularly seen on the horse ride is one of the most elegant and rarest mammals found in Tanzania, the Gerenuk.
They offer morning and afternoon rides, 2-hour rides (depending on pace). The morning rides depart at 0800AM and the afternoon rides departs at 1430PM. They are flexible with time however these are the best hours of the day to be out in the bush on horseback. Some people like to combine the morning ride with a lunch /brunch at the horse polo club afterward, which is only a three-minute drive from their stables and part of the same wildlife estate. For the afternoon ride one can enjoy a cold sundowner at the club followed by dinner, and if you time the day, there is horse polo being played every Wednesday at 1630PM, Saturday at 16:30PM, and on Sundays at 10:30 AM. Apart from the restaurant and the bar at the polo club, there is also a lovely swimming pool to be enjoyed.
